This corroborates what the ERA moderator, Matt, said about PS5 BC last November. To paraphrase, he said that the PS5 will have enhanced BC.
In addition, this is not related to emulation or BC, but this piece of info may also apply to the PS5. Another Sony patent was published on Sept. 27, 2018 for what sounds like freesync or VRR.
