You dont get it, TR1, TR2 and TR3 were much better games for its time than later games were for its time, like I wrote they were one of best games of hole generation that had plenty of great games (I mean first generation of 3D games). People, including old players, can get on with times and develop new habits and tastes. See Resident Evil 4 vs TRUE Resident Evil games. Hundreds of thousands of old school Resident Evil fans ended up preferring RE4 even though it insultingly strayed from the series' essence.

And hey, no one is obliged to choose the superior game based on how they "felt for their time" That's just your criteria.
