Wouldn't say it's on Nintendo's level considering they already have titles that have outsold these numbers in less than a year and a half since their latest platform released. As well as the amount of 1st party titles Nintendo releases is greater so there is more competition between 1st party titles on that platform and on the whole a greater combined total of all 1st party sales.

Don't let this detract from Sony's 1st party success though (only discussing it because it's apart of the threads topic), but it is clear they get their success from two different places. Nintendo mostly 1st party and Sony 3rd party.

Isnt he specifically talking about 3rd party sales on PS4 rather than sales on all platforms?

I hope not because that would be disingenuous.  If GTA 5 was exclusive to one platform, it's numbers on that one platform would be crazy.

Sony's not going to get any extra money if a game on PS4 does well on Xbox and PC though. So for this specific topic about a video game companies sales via their platform, it would be disingenuous to count sales Microsoft or Steam got for Sony.
