Iran doesn't have any nuclear weapons.

There's still a possibility they could get nukes though. Combining government with radical Islam is how Iran became such a threat to begin with.

That would take years, maybe even decades. Donald Trump would be out of office by then. Building a stockpile of nuclear weapons from the ground up is no small task. You would also have to assume that the remaining countries who signed the Iran nuclear deal aren't keeping an eye on them. Iran is not the threat everyone makes them out to be. They don't have many allies in the region. It is also an open secret at this point that Iran's main enemy which is Israel does have a stockpile of nuclear weapons. Iran does have two advantages though. First, their country sits in a large mountainous area which would make a ground invasion and occupation difficult. Their second advantage is that they are close allies of Russia, a country who is a major nuclear power.

Since Iran and Russia are close allies and Donald Trump seems determined to improve relations with Russia, what he is doing with Iran is probably an attempted repeat of what occurred with North Korea. He most likely wants to negotiate a new nuclear deal with Iran since he detests the current one. Russia would most likely serve as a mediator between the US and Iran. Wether this works out, who knows.

At this point, Donald Trump isn't the one you should be worried about even though I don't approve of this harsh behavior towards Iran or anybody. He doesn't want war with Iran. He knows most Americans are sick of war and starting a new war would cost him the election in 2020. It is the John McCain/Hillary Clinton type of Neocons and Neo-Liberals you have to worry about. They do want war with Iran. Their buddies who are part of the military industrial complex and the Deep State demand it. They also don't like Trump and would be more than happy if one of their people got elected instead of him regardless of wether they're a Democrat or Republican.
