It's this time of the month: Steam Stats

When I checked yesterday, the July numbers weren't up yet. But they fixed the DX12-category and added the list of "all video cards". Gladly I wrote them down, today they took that list down again. So here are the "all GPU"-shares including June:

As you can see, they splitted up the R9-series in R9 200, R9 380 and R9 390... better late than never. They also added the GTX 960M.

Now to the July numbers. Here are the shares of the DX12-compatible GPUs. Both GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 are showing up with almost half a percent each:

The growth of Steam accounts sped up a bit according to SteamSpy estimates... now almost 179 million active users:

Based on all these data I estimate the number of Steam-PCs that can keep up with PS4 + XBO fidelity around 40 million units, so still in the ballpark of the PS4 hardware base. 16 million Steam-PCs should be "VR recommended" systems so far... this number should grow faster next month thanks to the RX 480, GTX 1060 and the slashed prices for the older GPUs (RX 390, 390X, Fury, GTX 970, GTX 980,...)

Windows 10 gained another 2% and is now on almost every second Steam-PC: 48.6% if we include the 32-bit version.

The DX-compatible top 10 looks very green, hopefully Polaris can bring some red back:
