1st part yes, it isn't about making sex. It's about buying something and the expectations that go with it, them having it changed and not liking. Not everyone that doesn't like is a bad person as people attacking OP seems to think.

2nd changing sex during encounter, versus changing sex in the middle of the franchise (some games the char being something and then the same char being changed) so it's equivalent.

3rd if a club is all man clubs then no female should be there as much as an all female shouldn't have men.

4th I wouldn't have a problem with a female or male char in a game or book being a trans that you discover during the game as long as it is meaningful for the game. There is a series where that is an possibility on the rumors.

5th I don't need the gender, color or religion of the char to be able to relate. We play even aliens, robots and animals no problem. So the excuse that they need to change char to make people happier (even when those aren't even their core markets) is silly).

6th for me changing one side or the other is the same.

Man Im not talking about trans or a person changing sex. Im talking about having different main characters that change all your point of view in a story book movie etc. At start you see one character then at the middle we change for other character. That might be a man or a female. Or all around.

About being a bad person, I did not said anything of it... don't know why you say it.
The only thing I thing is that between your side or my side the problem with this discussions is that I think that they are more divisive than they should. And sometimes it seems people worry a lot about this and less about more serious stuff and ijustices going on in the world. But this is a gaming site so I get it. But even so, people nowday seem all focusing on this crap of pro and anti feminism.

Ok, so if is a man's club or female club yes they dont enter.
My point is : are specific games a man's club?
I just gave a comparison with other situation as you gave with the hooker that might have other meaning. I just wanted to show you that I can get you comparisons with situations that are bad or good.
And in the end we are not talking about a hooker or a boys club. We are talking about a game main character.
In entertainment as it says the title. In entertainment, books, etc. character change from book to book a lot of time between collections.

So if one game like gta now has a female character, that is like a different sex partner for you? the experience changes? You wont play it?

What if there is a battlefield nowdays where you are a female soldier against ISIS? Won't you play it because statistically they are less than man?
I don't feel that is negative for entertainment,  I think is enriching new experiences.
Do you feel that would be negative?

Cheers

A part of the book or game being with a male and another with a female isn't a problem. The point on the thread was basically just keeping the char but saying it's now a different sex or color.

I said it because that is a recurring judgement made on this thread or site. That if someone isn't progressist he is a monster.

Nope no game is a boy's club even if the core is like 95% male, the problem is trying to force the game to cater to the 5% which usually ends up being worse product, failing to meet goals and them blaming the core gamer to not have open mind to accept it. Also, you won't make a believable game based on middle age where half your german knights are black and woman.

I won't play GTA at all. But I wouldn't avoid any game because the main char is a female, or even if it's trans. But I would be unhappy if they decided to make UC5 and call Nathan Drake of Nathalia Drake instead of just using another female char being his daughter or any of the minor char that already even got LL for example.

If the female soldier is based on a real life squadron of females (like there is in Israel) no issue, if they portray the USA military as half female them that is bogus.
