I'm not sure anyone has mentioned 400 years of slaves in the US.  Just 400 years of black slavery.  But the main point is that "400 years" is an oft used statement to describe the time frame.  For Kanye to just randomly say 400 years without any insinuation of the known phrase is ridiculous.   He said "400 years" because of that oft used phrase.  Therefore he meant physical slavery.

Can't believe we have people here and elsewhere actually believing he was expressing ONLY mental slavery.

But hell, let's actually look at that angle.  400 years of mental slavery.  How is that time period determined?  400 years ago was 1618.  What established and factored into 400 years of mental slavery starting around 1618?

Actually they were arguing that it wasn't 400 years of slavery in the US and so the term was a SJW creation or misinterpertation.  They are so far off base it is n't funny and kinda embarrassing.   Kayne is talking specifically about the African Slave Trade through the Atlantic (because that is the only thing he could be talking about).  The African slave trade began in the 1500s and continued to the late 1800 or for all intents and purposes about 400 years.   

What Kanye is trying to insinuate is that for them to be slaves for that period of time, they had to be mentally damaged because according to him, the salves outnumbered their 'masters' (which is correct objectively) and that they could have overthrown them. 

I don't see what his point is.  So lets say they were both physically in bondage and and mentally enslaved through violence and assault.  He makes it sound like it is the slaves to blame for being forced into slavery.  Its ridiculous on the face of it.  Basically, according to him their cannot be victims.  If someone hurts you, it is your fault and your fault alone.   It is dumb, it is dangerous, and it is like failing to understand the real world around you because you can't understand the past.
