I’ve not played Skyrim until now (on the switch).

My biggest complaints (and I’m well aware it’s an old game):

Artdirection is bad and hasn’t aged well. A prime example of a game that looks better on screenahots than when being played. Now graphics is kind of a null point if the game is still good (I still love Morrowind and that one has not aged well visually). But I’m just saying, if they’d gone for a more stilistic/cartoonish approach the visuals would have aged better.

The world feels empty. When you are outside a village/town or dungeon the world feels really barren, empty and dead. The Hyrule in BtoW feels much more alive to me than Skyrim and I’m well aware of that a lot of people complained about BotW feeling empty.

Overall I enjoy the game and I know I will clock more hours in this game than in BtoW. It’s not that I think it’s a better game than BotW (to me BotW is the best game I’ve played in the last 20 years), it’s just that after logging 115 hours in BtoW I felt done with that game, no matter how good it is I’m not interested in finding all the Korok seeds, shrines or side quests, I’m done with that game (for now). But Elder Scroll games have always taken a lot of my time.

Sure a lot of the mechanics from BotW would have been nice but meh, I’ve played Elder Scrolls games before so I knew what I would get ;)
