It does bug me that consoles and devices today are designed to make it very difficult to repair when often the problem is a small one... I recall having to send my dang Wii U all the way to Japan for a faulty fan that could have been easily replaced but I didn't want to void the warranty.
Still, it seems potentially unfair to necessitate that they honor warranties even when the owners are supremely negligent and may have broken it/made it worse through their own tinkering. Kinda on the fence with this one.
It IS nice to see some consumer-friendly developments though! Nice change of pace heh
