My guess is, at one time, the movie was supposed to be a theatrical release, so they try to maximize the international box office by appealing to China which is the biggest foreign market for Hollywood movies. That's why more blockbusters have been trying to shoehorn in Chinese actors and some big US movies are co-produced by Chinese companies themselves.
