This is basically the same for me. Loved Fallout 3/NV/4 and ES 3/4/5, but absolutely despised Witcher 3. (I have played a loved Mass Effect 1 and 2, and parts of 3) I even bought the GOTY Edition since I heard it was so good. Played about 10 hours, couldn't stand the controls, and gave it to a friend. The art style was really great, and I thought the lore seemed interesting, but the actual gameplay was atrocious.

We even have Zelda avatars. Coincidence?!

Haha well thats cool, and talking of Zelda, after BotW i tried Witcher 3 GotY edition again, and i had to go around a cliff, i was like just CLIMB the hill its only 2 meter bloody high, but no Geralt had to walk around the bloody hill. I was snapped. Add in totally clunky controls and horrible combat.

That's a problem I've had with a lot of games since playing BotW. Just climb over it! It's three feet high!

Another problem I had with Witcher 3 was the arbitrary gating with levels. I made the mistake of trying to explore on Roach just outside the starting town after the pub scenes, and I was attacked by Level 15 skeletons in a graveyard not far from town and destroyed. As far as I can tell, the only way to stand a chance is just to level up so they don't do as much damage. It made me not want to explore at all.
