OK, I'm done. I figure people would realize I'm just messing around.

I don't even like Radiohead, but find some of their fans hilarious. Particularly the crazy over-zealous dedication, like they have no room to be fans of any other kind of music. Another funny thing is the irony of their accusations of a person being narrow-minded for not thinking Radiohead is the pinnacle of music.

Although, perhaps the most cringe-worthy funny part of the more extreme members of the Radiohead fanbase is the stringing together of praise-type adjectives. It's like they just opened an English Thesaurus and grabbed a bunch a bunch of synonyms for "great" and "talented" beginning with the most obscure, and working their way back until they hit commonly used words (they only got to those because they were running out of adjectives)..

I really liked Radiohead in college. I suppose I sort of still do, but I haven't listened to them in years lol

That reminds me of a good annoyance actually... people who dog pile on hating a band far beyond what is reasonable, usually just to be contrarians.

The two that spring to me are Nickelback and Coldplay. Nickelback has received by far the worst of it, and for the life of me I just cannot see where this unbridled hate is coming from.

I'm no big fan, but they sound like most other bands and aren't terrible while the singer is widely reported to be one of the nicest people in the industry (perhaps it's because he never defends himself?); Coldplay, meanwhile, is a legitimately good band that most seemed to either love or, at worst, feel apathetic towards. I think the turning point for them may have been that song they did with Kanye which (in my opinion) was honestly very catchy, and otherwise their music has been far more upbeat lately than the sadder songs earlier in their careers.

There's nothing wrong with not liking their music, but I really don't see how they deserve to constantly be a punchline. What's odd is when I've spoken with people about it in the past, they all generally agree that they don't actually hate them lol... it's just some weird joke everyone is in on.

Creed hate is justified, though. :D
