game #4

Hint 1: This turn-based strategy game is one of the most successful entries in the series, although it got criticized because one gameplay element of the series could be deactivated for a playthrough to make it easier/more accessible.

Fire Emblem Awakening?

My last game before entering the TOP 3 is Fire Emblem: Awakening. Flilix had it right.

Fire Emblem is a great working series, with a gameplay I generally like. Awakening just does this mechanics so right and so fulfilling. And at the same time looks pretty great and has funny dialogue. It was just a blast to play it.

While the gameplay was enticing the story and cutscenes kept the play entertaining, not that you always do the same. Also I played multiple savegames to try out different things (for marriages for instance) and to play one casual playthrough and after I managed a level followed up with the playthrough with permadeath for advanced challenge.

This is one of the games that made the 3DS such an great gaming device. I'm pretty interested if Switch can follow up on this. The start indeed is good.
