Well, most people still have 1080p tvs over 4k ones. And most 4k tvs are rubbish at upscaling with broadcasts. But also, ask yourself this question. Does a 27", 32", 40" screen in 1080p look bad to you? Frame rate should be prioritized over resolution every time. |
Well, the priority of either 4K or 60FPS depends on the game really. At least for me it does. I own a PS4 Pro with a 2016 Sony Bravia 4K HDR TV and when I play Horizon Zero Dawn - I want resolution. But when I'm playing Titanfall 2 - I want 60FPS. When FF7 Remake comes out, I want 30 FPS checkerboard 4K - not 1080P 60 FPS. Not that I'm railing against 1080P, but if I have a 4K console + TV, I'm certainly going to want the resolution that I can get out of it. After seeing and playing Horizon in checkerboard 4K HDR - that's all I want for my cinematic games. Shooters however, I want 60 FPS. People don't generally buy a PS4 Pro to play games in 60 FPS, otherwise they'd change the name of the console and it's advertising campaign.
