1) Japan and China thrived once they adopted free market capitalism. A very western idea.

China and Japan are stupidly ancient countries (That predate Christianity) that have had capitalism several times in their histories before most western nations.
The Silk Road was one such example.

Thus, nothing to do with religion or western influence.

2) The three Abrahamic religions all diverge, and that divergence is where Christianity (the new testament) has given us our most valuable lessons.

Doesn't matter if or by how much they diverged, they are all painted with the same brush.

3) Sound reasoning, to me, shows that Christian values (modified through modernity) have lead to the highest standards of living and longest life expectancies in human history.

Higher standards of living, increased life expectancy has nothing to do with Christianity.
I mean if you are going to conflate two separate things by using a what-if statement... Then I can simply assert that those things became possible thanks to Atheists... As it's western nations that have sizable Atheist populations where such development has occurred.

Rather, higher standards of living and higher life expectancy do have everything to do with science and technology... Which are often fundamentals that come into conflict with theistic stances.

I'm not sure how important marriage being exclusively between a man and a woman is to western civilisation, or even how to measure its importance. This uncertainty was another factor in me voting no.

Essentially though, I reject the entire legal framework and hate giving the government more power to decide who can do what with whom. It shouldn't even be up to them.

Then perhaps you should have done some research before you voted?

What you like/dislike is ultimately redundant, the same-sex marriage survey was not actually asking for your opinion on any of that as it had nothing to do with it. - Using that as an excuse to "vote no" just proves you do not wish for all Australian born citizens to be seen and treated as equals in the eyes of the current law framework.
The Government would not have gained or lost any power or capabilities making your entire argument base-point... Irrelevant.
