Interesting. The baby also seems to be a kind of power source for that seeking/protecting device! When the dying guy passes the baby to Reedus, his own device activates. And yeah, those dream catchers seem to play an important role. Stuff like time switches, alternate realities, death and yes dreams seem to be the main themes.

Yeah. The idea of the baby being a source of life and draining time from the baby for time of your own seems to be a popular theory. I know some people are also thinking that you actually play as the baby who is essentially a parasite who uses other people as hosts. An interesting concept but rather weird.
Though my theory could still work that you are retrieving a specific baby by going into some other dimension to say a baby and the baby's you find there are whether dying or on their way to being born. The one inside of Sam looked okay and perfectly happy. I get the vibe that the 2nd trailer takes place in the real world with some overlays and that trailer 1 and 3 takes place in another dimension that is connected with out own in a non-materialistic way. Actually the second trailer kind of did offer a huge clue with the audio and German speaking in the first release prior to the Low Roar version released the following day.
The term Death Stranding really could have 3-4 different meanings. That's really cool.
