Of Course that 2-3 or more consoles can co-exist on market, but problem with you is that you think they dont effect on sales of each other, of course they affect. They don't need to share same library to effect on each sales, yes they are different, but fact is that most people during one year will buy one console only and in this case they will choose between two consoles and that wasnt case last year in Japan. Like I wrote, "there are people out there in the world, or in this case Japan, that are choosing between the two. If both didn't exist, they would get the one that did. But since they both exist, some people are choosing one or the other".  PS4 sales in some way would probably be better in Japan also like in rest world where PS4 is notcible YOY up, if Switch isnt so much popular in Japan, PS4 sales evre year in Japan are better compared to previous like in rest of world only this year in Japan there is chance that PS4 will not be up YOY. Imagine some parent or young man that are not Nintendo fans and want to buy new console in Japan, they can easily choose Switch over PS4 because Switch is so damn popular in Japan and everywhere wants it and they heard that last Zelda and Mario Odyssey are one best games ever and that Splatoon is also very fun and popular game, so its not hard to imagine that some of them will buy Switch instead of PS4 in that case.

For 2nd part, its simple, I expalined you why Switch is selling also to people that are not Nintendo fans. We already seeing plenty of people that saying that Switch is their first Nintendo console in long time (in couple of generations) or even first Nintendo console ever.

The problem here is you can't back up your point with data. It's all about speculation on your part but if  you look at the data that I presented currently they don't because data dictates that PS4 is selling like PS4 before even without the Switch.
It's funny you still ignore the massive Q4 for the PS4  last year and claiming that it doesn't have any effect on why PS4 is down YOY and using that as a factor on why Switch is stealing sales from PS4 and using the sales from the west? BF had massive deals $199 is always the sweet spot especially in the west. Lot's of bundles but how about Japan in comparison? Are there deals, is there a new revision. Does it have notable games that will appeal to Japan?

Week 44- 47 2016 COD, Dragonball Xenoverse, Atelier, PS4 Pro launch,  fate game, SD gundam VS week 44-47 COD, .Hack, NFS, star wars battle front, Physical copy of free Hatsune miku game with all the paid content. Now tell me. Which is more appealing in your eyes if you are a Japanese gamer? YOY is not a great indicator to prove your point. Also, let's also not ignore that PS4 is still up YTD at the moment.

At bold. You are acting that PS4 is the only hardware available last year and acting that Switch and PS4 is only the available hardware in Japan this year. Also fact?? Can you please provide me data that most people buy only one console a year in Japan?
Here's the thing there are 20 Million 3DS user that wants to upgrade to Switch we cannot deny the fact that portability is a big factor. Are you insinuating that these user are choosing between PS4 and Switch? There's no PS4 on that equation. Those people never plan on buying a PS4 to begin with. All they want is a Switch.

Just for the record I am just saying that at the moment Switch is not Stealing sales from the PS4 because there is none to steal. At the moment the appeal of Switch is it's 1st party games. In the future obviously it will when big 3rd party games start releasing on Switch.
For example in August 3DS was able to steal sales from PS4 because of DQXI and vice versa.
