Reading the statement with typical PR bullshit in mind:

Crystals are only being removed temporarily. For how long? We don't know. Could be a week, could be a month, could be 3 months.
"all progression will be earned through gameplay" I'm missing a very important word here: "just", it should say "all progression will be earned just through gameplay". Nowhere does it say that they're removing Star Cards from Loot Crates.
