The original Blade Runner is one of the most overrated films in history. Sure it's got its fair share of diehard fans, most of whom probably weren't even born when the original theatrical release came out and only discovered it after its many re-cuts on home video formats. But holy crap is the movie a total snorefest when you're not getting distracted by all the pretty backgrounds and noir atmosphere. The movie is literally a live action anime.

So why anyone is shocked that its sequel that strives to do everything its predecessor did but only bigger and longer isn't setting the box office on fire is beyond me. I had to laugh at some early projections of this movie grossing as much as $80 million domestically opening weekend. Talk about shooting for the stars and hoping for the moon.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
