Well, she doesn't make much wrong, because she has a wait and see approach. Her decisions mostly base on what stabilizes her power. So this is often popular opinions she agrees with. Most clearly this was shown in the question of nuclear power plants. The previous government had made a law, that germany leaves step by step nuclear power. Merkel was revising that so that no end dates for the nuclear power plants were made (mind you: even then no new plants were in discussion). When came Fukushima and Merkel revised her stance again and a plan for leaving nuclear power was remade (although slightly differently than before).
