Game is called GT "Sports".. with the sport mode being the focus.  What other game gives you an opportunity to earn an actual FIA racing license, recognized and valid in 22 countries? That's what real skills will do for you in this game.. it's the actual driving test.  Campagin is basically prep work for the real meat of the game.. sport mode, where races can matter to some as well as how good you are at utilizing real driving skills to win races, thus the online aspect where races and progress will be monitored.  With a game clearly focused on multiplayer, I see no issue with the "campaign mode".  Thus the "real driving simulator" reign shall continue.

Okay, so they have fia license............but with absolutely none of the fia circuits. LOGIC.

Online racing is far cry what from what you rink it is, since they are basically demolition derbies. This goes for nearly every racing game out there.

No upgrading cars, no dynamic weather, only 177 cars, with like half of them being race variant clones of already existing cars. Only 6 real-life locations. God knows what they have been doing for the last 4 years.

Yes... certainly it's online portion is such a BS that their GT Academy was able to flourish and put a pilot into a professional position.

Also certainly the game is such a sore simulation that Yamauchi also got second place in Nurburgring.

And definetely the skills used in the game are such useless things that I probably were lucky that after several thousand hours played among the 6 GT games I had my first kart race and ended first against people that raced every week, and were able to have a lap in the best 5 of the month.

Cutting off the studio that produces their biggest IP probably wouldn't be the most sound business decision.

Sorry to say, but gt isn't bigger than uncharted or the last of us, and probably even horizon once the second installment comes.

But getting back to the point, I mean cut the incompetent studio known as polyphony. Give GT to some other better studio, ending it would be idiotic.

The evidence being? The only GT to date to sell less than a UC or TLOU in a single platform were 6 as far as I remember.

Anyway you suggested cutting PD and keeping DC dev, so is DC bigger or better than GT?

The main reason for GT being what it's is the passion of Kaz Yamauchi. Sure you can suggest that Sony improve the management or increase the dev. But GT without him would be souless... IF they want another franchise they may make a new dev and start a new IP (hint, DC failed at it).
