I think it's better than GT in basically every way which is nice, but I do agree it isn't nearly as good as Z. Still, there are some epic moments in it worth a watch.
I actually appreciate the worthless characters being ignored, but you left out the return of 17 and the dedication of focusing on Trunks for an entire arc. I'm not sure where you are but you mentioned Frieza's return and still branded Gohan a scientist which seems inaccurate to say the least if you're caught up on events.
I find your criticisms superficial and myopic, but to each his or her own.
