I feel like it's adoption rate is tied to the price point. Right now it's quite a bit more than the system it runs on and that doesn't fly with most consumers.

I wouldn't be surprised if sales are already close to maxed out here at that price point. It's normally more expensive than the ps4 pro here (atm it's CAD 50 less due to a temporary CAD 100 price cut, 450 vs 500), including the camera and move it's CAD 100 more than the upcoming xbox one x. (700 vs 600)

For new consumers that would mean at least a CAD 875 investment, slim + discounted psvr headset + camera. For the best experience CAD 1200, pro + psvr move bundle. I already had the camera and move controllers from last gen, and was planning on buying the pro anyway. CAD 1200 ($950) in one go would have made me pause as well.

It's a shame Sony didn't put the breakout box functionality in the pro, that would have reduced the setup and cable mess and allowed for a cheaper headset for the pro. I guess they can still do it with a later VR bundle. If Sony can offer a complete VR bundle for the price of an XBox One X, it might have a better chance.
