Well you can do plastic surgery to become Voldemort and them your sight would improve a lot

what I can see out of my right eye... if I only open that and focus (my brain just takes the image away when both are open so that I can actually see a clear image) is actually a giant Lightning bolt shaped black scar with a tiny amount of peripheral vision around it (just some black and white rods, no cones) so I get free Harry Potter Scar Vision if I need it!

Uhnnn nice. So you already are almost up there =]

Comparing a partial loss with a total loss in this kind of situation isn't that hard a choice... I don't think there is much instances that is preferable to lose total hear than 1 eye sight.

For this to be something acceptable maybe 1 eye or complete touch sense... I would probably prefer my sight being intact, but lack of touch could perhaps make sex a lot less pleasing.

More than that, couldn't that be seriously dangerous? I assume no sense of touch would also mean no pain. So if you cut yourself on anything you wouldn't feel it and realise so instead you'd just keep walking around bleeding, until you eventually die from blood loss and you're like "shit, where did that cut come from?".

Yes it's quite dangerous to live without touch... but actually total impairment on sight, hearing, touch and smell can be quite dangerous... but we can avoid danger with some adaptation, but I have no idea how much sex would lose on being touchless.

Not just that, but also suffering burns from catching burning things without noticing, for example. There's an illness called CIPA that does that, and has a lot of drawbacks like not sweating, meaning that you can't regulate your body temperature.

Right you are, several harsh accidents caused by this disease.
