As expected the game seems to offer little more than its predecessor and that doesn't justify the 60 dollar price imo. Maybe 2 years from now it'll be like 20$

Maybe in current state, but we know tons of free content will be arriving in at least next 12 months, so game will defiantly worth $60 even if now little light with content. You will not any price cut for Splatoon 2 in next 2 years.

I guess you were not around for the original Splatoon where people also said it wasn't worth $60, but were quickly proven wrong.

Splatoon 1 was never 60 dollars. Everywhere it was close to 40. At launch here in the Netherlands I saw it several times for 35 and even 30 euros.

Actually only in Europe was 40 euros, everywhere else was $50 and $60. And that wasnt strange too much, it was new IP that Nintendo wanted to push and Europe was weakest market for Wii U, now they dont have any reason to not set price of $60 when become one of most popular Nintendo IP.

It'll go down to that kind of price if Splatoon 2 doesn't sell well. And there is a highly unlikely chance of that happening. Splatoon 2 is already on rampage in Japan and it has been #1 numerous times on Amazon both US and JP.

Nintendo games never have price cuts, only similar thing they have are "Nintendo Selects" line where games receive price cut to $20-25 few years after they are released. Also they have from time to time discounts on eShop.
