I had nothing agaisnt Dons vision. If it went his way we would have gotten a digital world like Steam with no Discs required and newer innovation with Kinect 2.0. Unfortunately now, all we have is two identical consoles that offer nothing but the same things apart from there 1st games.
1 main reason i like the Switch is because its different and is taking risks. Now consoles are just PCs with paywalls. As a PC gamer, consoles (aside from the Switch) dont interest me anymore.
No risk taking from Sony or MS. Just heres more power.

A drm Xbox would still be the same Xbox we have now, only more restrictive. As for Kinect 2.0, it still wasn't precise enough to be useful for anything more intricate.

Consoles have always been identical with the way we play them until like the Wii, I think you're being disingenuous when you criticize the current gen when it has always been like this, power and exclusives were always the main differentiating factor. I dunno what you were expecting to change in something that's been around for 30 years. The nature of home consoles is never gonna change, TV will always be TV, so will your refrigerator and washing machine.

Switch is a handheld, something Nintendo does for decades, I dont see with what they're taking risks, having it connect to your tv? Nintendo hasn't taken any big risks since the Gamecube and its library, taking their IPs into a new direction, it's a risk averse company banking on safe bets and people's nostalgia now.
