You do need an email, but you don't need to verify right away to use VGC, so you could just use a filler email and be good to go :/

You do if your name is Kapi. That's why I never used my first account, never received the email to verify and it wouldn't let me log in until I verified. Pretty sure I've made another alt since and couldn't use that until I had verified either.

The same thing happened to me! My original account was Oheao, but I couldn't access my email to confirm it, so I had to make a new account months later, which was this one.
