There is actually plenty of good DLC made by 3rd parties, I agree with you in general though (although I'm not so sure that Nintendo will do it "right" either, to be honest). I prefer pure expansions instead, The Witcher 3 has the best expansion packs I've ever tried in my entire life and some cool free DLC as well.
