Most around his age or older would be old in the mind. That's usually how aging goes. They're used to what they learned back in their younger years. But it's not like Miyamoto is old and not adjusting. Sure it's slow, but he's empowered devs under his wing to make games like Splatoon, ARMS, etc. He encouraged a first person perspective for Metroid Prime, online multiplayer for Luigi's Mansion 2, etc. Games like Nintendogs and Galaxy were under his supervision. And he's relatively young at heart as well as you see in interviews and guest appearances on YouTube.

And look, being old in age and mind shouldn't be condemned. I'm sure I'll be like that when I'm around that age. Of course, I'll continue to learn as I grow older, like any individual who cares to survive that long. That's part of life. We live, grow old, and adjust and adapt when we can.
