Should be. Heck, they shoudl do what Witcher 3 did.

Label the Story/Dungeon thing in holiday as an EXPANSION for $20.

Then have the rest just be free dlc given throughout the year until the expansion comes out.

That's essentially what this is, just for some reason they locked the free dlc behind an expansion paywall. Everything before the holiday expansion is not worth paying for and should be free. They know that, thus why they don't let you split up the expansion pass price. The expansion in holiday season is worth $20 to them and they will charge it that regardlss if any of the other stuff was part of it or not.

I actually wish they was the method forward as well, the Witcher 3 showed how to do DLC correctly, but no company seems to follow good practice DLC.

Yea it's annoying and why my favorite dev is CDProjekt Red. They did it right. They rewarded people for buying their game, not for buying their expansion pass.

Nintendo is doing it backwards. They are rewarding people for buying their expansion pass.

Really feels like the pre-holiday dlc is just pre-order bonus for teh expansion pass. And I dispise pre-order bonuses/store bonuses/ect.
