As it has been pointed out, this has never happened too Wii U and 3DS. So this is pretty big. But what matters is how they maintain that momentum throughout the year. They can't afford a dry summer and autumn and the only winter game they have is Mario. That can't happen. Nintendo needs to get their other B list titles for summer and autumn. Their Kirby, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, Kid Icarus, etc. Nintendo has the IP to drive the Switch, it'll be interesting to see if they do.

Yeah i think Spring is pretty good and Summer has splatoon. From Sept-Dec Mario isnt enough they need more games than that. Maybe Pokemon Stars?

For Nintendo's sake, I really hope this doesn't turn out like your Halo 5 prediction, or this will end up as WiiU.0.

Lmao this is my favorite comment /thread.

Also looking back at the launch for 3DS and Wii U they werent the #1 on Amazon

How do you look up Amazon's bestseller-ranking of January or February or March 2011? Can't you only look up the ranking of the end of the year?

How do you know that the 3DS wasn't #1 in January 2011 or January+February 2011 or January+February+March 2011 at Amazon?

At top of the Url i just changed the dates to past months.

Jan 2011 https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2011-01/videogames/ref=zg_bsar_videogames_pg_3?ie=UTF8&pg=1

Feb 2011 https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2011-02/videogames/ref=zg_bsar_videogames_pg_3?ie=UTF8&pg=1

March 2011 https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2011-03/videogames/ref=zg_bsar_videogames_pg_3?ie=UTF8&pg=1

It was #4 and #7 in March though.
