I haven't been this hyped for a Mario game since the first Galaxy. This game looks awesome! I'm also quite in love with the Sonic Adventures vibe... but what if we have it wrong?
What if it's actually the Mario Bro's movie in reverse?
In the movie Mario and Luigi are real world people from New York City that go to the Mushroom Kingdom. They end up going there by going into a manhole to the sewers that takes him to another dimension. The basic plot of Super Mario Odyssey is that Mario somehow ends up in another dimension that resembles the real world's New York City by coming out of a manhole. He's originally from the Mushroom Kingdom. This is actually a pretty cool jab at the movie and made me smile pretty hardcore. Love or hate the movie, it's still a classic.
