What about Resident Evil Zero and the Resident Evil Remake? You never played those?

I did. Remake was just RE 1, so that doesn't count and Zero was ok. But I thought the whole two player, Ico like system was a little annoying and changed the series too much. 

To be honest though, I'd take Zero over anything since. RE 4 was a great game, but like RE7, it was a different IP with the RE name. The original RE 4 turned into Devil May Cry. Capcom has a thing for building new IP and then whoring out the RE name to help it sell.
