The thing is this game was never meant to be the main line Final Fantasy Game thats why it was called versus 13. And Square Enix had no choice but to turn this game into a numbered Final Fantasy, if i remember correctly some western studio was supposed to be developing Final Fantasy 15 in space like mass effect. but that project got canned, and with Versus 13 being 35 t0 40% completed, Nomura dark vision, and multiple entries i guess square decided to make changes to the game to fit the main line series hence tabata comes in. So the game we are seeing now is half of Nomura's vision and other half slapped on by SE to be XV.
