Should Sony wait until Scorpio is released and then drop a PS5 release when MS are all dialed in, effectively making the Scorpio redundant right out the door. Whatever they pull, the ball is truely in Sonys court right now, even though it might seem otherwise. |
Why? Just why? Because Scorpio is a bit stronger? The difference between X1 and PS4 isn't that big, the difference between Scorpio and Pro wont be that big.
More importantly, when did the strongest hardware ever win a generation?

No, with a reason. The same reason why MS and Sony aren't so much reacting to each other but waiting for technological steps.

Definitely. 2019/2020. Give us a good 6-7 year cycle, probably 7 considering the PS4 Pro is being released. They don't wanna do a Nintendo and essentially cut of support 4 years in.... |
Playstation '5' and Nextbox should launch when the right technique is ready for the mass market. Might totally make sense to wait until 2020/2021 for mass market 7nm products. Otherwise new hardware might be a to small step.
