Correct. Pokemon Go has suffered a large drop, but these figures are still far above any other app out right now and above other app games at a comparable point in time. On top of that, Go is still at number 4 on the Google Play charts, and it's still the highest grossing app on Android and iOS. It's a bit like when people would see declines in World of Warcraft player numbers. Yes, the drop off is big, but that's because it hit a higher point than any other app game in far less time than other titles took, and even with the drop, it's still enormously successful and ahead of any rival.
If Niantic can start to update the app more regularly, this game could have some serious legs. Given Niantic have struggled with the game's popularity and roll-out, they're going to have a tough time, and Go could well end up fading out fairly rapidly. If Niantic can start adding legendaries, make the most of sponsorship deals, gradually add the news gens, and improve the battling/trading mechanics, then Go could be around for a little while yet.
