You could try the following: Take aspirin or Bufferin before you play, if this prevents the pain then arthritis should be considered (regardless of age). Try varying the way you hold the controller or try the new soft sleeve. Not having to grip a hard object might help. If not you may have to take more frequent breaks but if the condition persists, I would consider seeking medical advice.
