But I disagree with hershel layton. I think taking big events to poor/troubled countries is a great way to spread awareness of the problems inside and outside of it.

Do I expect anything out of it? As much as the World Cup helped Brazil, but it does something, at least.

yes, because spreading billions is worth awareness for like two months(the length of the olympics' relevancy).
