@konnichiwa - Oh, you said almost. Almost, except for most to all of their big games. My bad.

And GOW maybe (maybe) looks more "realistic" than Zelda and Metroid in some ways (blood, I'm not sure how much else). But "detail" is something else. Compare development times, budgets and staff size, then toss in Nintendo's perfectionist philosophy. Then move on.

I just want to say that the style of many Nintendo games are not detailed.

Uhm like Mario.. If Mario jumps into the water and he comes out of the water you don't see thousands/millions of hairs who are wet or even clothes who are wet. That is typical Nintendo they don't use it the most of the times.

Hmmm Metroid Prime is also from Nintendo? Isn't it an American company or am I wrong?

Retro Studios produces Metroid and are owned by Nintendo ...

Beyond that I doubt you've ever played Nintendo's games because (typically) when someone runs in the sand or jumps out of water you see their footprints; if I remember correctly, in Mario Sunshine you'd get gunk on yourself which went away if you jumped into water. Nintendo games are full of thousands of little details which people rarely notice.

Details...details;.

Rofl, you compared a game at the beginning of a generation to the end of the generation.    You looked pretty hard to find the lowest resolution shot of super mario sunshine you could.  I can do the same :)

Oh... look at that, who would have thought a game made 4 years later looks better *rolls eyes.*  Nintendo puts a lot of effort and polish into their games.  They do have  a perfectionist policy, and they don't tolerate mistakes.  There are very few developers who take that attitude in making their games.  The only others that I know of are Valve and Blizzard.  So, I'm not saying Sony games are bad, but they do not have the commitment to perfection that Nintendo does.
