I...may be misinterpreting some of what this is, but I think you're asking why people think that Scalebound looks bad?
If that's the case, then it's generally because the gameplay looks boring (at least it is for me). The combat looks slow and uninspiring, and controlling the dragon seems more like a tacked on gimmick than something that flows seamlessly into gameplay. Setting aside all issues with the protagonist, it's just not something that it seems like I could pick up and enjoy.
I guess we'll see, though. I thought the same about Okami and I was dead wrong there.
