I believe Wii U will have more lifetime sales than the original XBOX, and that will be considered acceptable for Nintendo going forward. Nintendo generally have a 5-6 year policy on their hardware so Wii U will be the console they develop for until about 2017...

Lol! I'm laughing now, reading this reply and this thread (with many replies saying "wait for this game and wait for that game and then we'll see what happens") in 2016 and the Wii U has only sold 12 million consoles, almost 4 years after launch and is getting destroyed by Xbox One and PS4 despite a 1 year headstart. I never thought the Wii U would be a success. The Wii U will never even outsell the Gamecube. I think the Wii U is most likely the worst console ever made, it's selling at a loss, has almost zero third party support and has very few new franchises or console sellers, so that's obvious and there's many reasons for that, so I won't even explain further why. I think selling so few consoles was deserved, Nintendo never gave anyone a reason to buy their console and I'm not buying a Wii U just to play Zelda or Mario, only those 12 million people would do that. Becoming a third party publisher would be a much better solution for them, if they can't cater to the masses like their competitors do.
