Dilma is from PT, an authoritarian socialist government party that stayed in power for 13 years and that bankrupt Brazil and Petrobras and used corruption to remain in power.

Because the PT bought every politicians, every politician is involved is some sort of corruption, but they came together to remove the PT party, due to becoming clear for the population their authority disposition, due to economical and employment crysis and blatant corruption they created during 13 years.

With the removal of PT clamored by the people, the vice president, from another party that was known for being a sell out to PT, started taking austerity measures to reduce the impact from the economical crysis the PT created and their unscrupulously spending.

The country is divided between the socialists that still defend the corrupt PT party and were brainwashed by the party propaganda and the ones that clamored its removal and everyone involved in any corruption and now see the hope that economically Brazil can survive the crysis.

Politically, it is clear for the people against PT, that while removal of PT was necessary and good, everyone in power isn't trustworth, but with the escalating of the investigation of corruption from a young "FBI-like" police, people hope for accountability for the first time.

But remains to be seen how the parties will change and adapt on next election, although since Brazil people here lack education and political awereness and high schools are plagued by socialist propaganda,  the political progress  from the outcome of these investigations should remain low, specially since the elections are plagued by illegal donations and money laundering and lack of direct election of the parlamient due to a messy mathematical formula for electing the parlament.
