So, something I've kind of noticed with this factoid is that it seems to get increasingly vague with each new iteration. The original statement, if I recall correctly, was for the December NPD, and it went as follows;

'Xbox One is the best place for gamers and the only console that has all top 10 best-selling titles of this generation that launched in 2015.'

Very precise- carefully so- as it's already been mentioned that this only really holds true if you exclude games that didn't launch in 2015. But that's what made this statement such a good one, it was precise, clear-cut, and left nothing to the imagination; the parameters were laid out for people to follow, and there was no excuse for misunderstanding it. Eventually, though, it was swapped out for what seems to be the more commonly used;

"...the only system with every top ten best selling game of 2015.."

So, same overall message as the first statement, but with some of the precise wording rendered a bit less so. Still, it can still certainly be interpreted as the original statement with little difficulty, and anyone who read the original statement would simply carry over the prior meaning to this one. People who saw this message for the first time would likely be unaware of the exclusion of 2014-launched games, though, as the parameters were not specified quite so clearly. But at least if one was made aware, they could look at the statement and say; 'Oh! Yeah, I see how it can be interpreted that way.'

Now to the image shown in the Gamespot article; http://static2.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_super/1179/11799911/3056474-deal.jpg

"The only system with every top ten best-selling console game."

Sooooo this either indicates that the Xbox One now somehow is the only console with all top 10 best-selling games this generation, ooooor we've drifted into what I like to call 'Bad Spin.' The former seems highly unlikely. If we've established that Halo 5 was unable to make the top 10 of 2015 list when games that launched in 2014 were counted, then there's no way it can make the top 10 overall list for this generation, because it only launched at the end of 2015. =P

So, yeah. o.o Bad spin it is! What I'm curious about is whether this is something from Microsoft's own marketing branch, or if we're looking at some overeager third-party marketing firm stepping out of line. This seems a tad too clumsy for Microsoft to try, in my opinion, their wording has generally been extremely careful.
