If they want to get 3rd parties back they have to do two things: make a console powerful enough to bring their games without needing major downgrades, and an architecture easy to develop for.

They already did exactly that with the wii u.

Stronger then Ps3/xbox 360, nontheless multiplattform games like Dark souls, GTA, COD, Fifa, Assassins Creed, Metal Gear Solid, Bioshock and co skipped the system. Many games skipped the system even before it was known as a failure.

And as far is I heard the powerpc based wii u is similar to the xbox360 and porting from x360 isnt at least nearly as difficult as to port from x360 to ps3. And the ps3 sold 80mio anyways.

Well, it is a necessary step to get 3rd party, but it doesn't guarantee it. Unless you do something to get Wii-like support (which, contrary to believe, was not bad at all, it's just overshadowed by all the shovelware) Nintendo needs to get people interested from the beginning. And 3rd parties have to choose which games to bring to the NX, if they just throw every game they have, they will find its audience is elsewhere. Games like Monster Hunter Tri, Rayman Legends, Lego City Undercover, Minecraft... sold well on the WiiU, but most companies just paid attention to the bombs of CoD, AC and the Batman games. They have to pick the correct games for the correct audiences.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
