Probably Final Fantasy VII, but not the Aerith scene that everyone quotes. It actually came before that when Red XIII discovers the truth about his father. He'd had all this hatred built up for his father and to then discover the truth and the tragic nature of his father's final act when they're reunited.

I haven't played it in ages but that was an awesome scene that I forgot. The part where they show Barret's back story was great, too.  It never even occurred to me to ask why Barrett was black and his daughter was white. Great game.

Yeah, the Barret back story was really well done. The shame and guilt he felt and the tragic ending to that section showed a very human side to him when his previous sections had him fitting into a typical character trope. Each character had there own stand out moments in the game. Good memories.
