I don't think why I should shy of playing these games because there's more people in the room that "don't understand the culture". Unless it is porn in itself, which these games are not, they should just learn how it works. I played Catherine and there were times where both my parents stumbled upon me playing, and the last thing I wanted was for Atlus to patch the game in order not to make Vincent climb huge cubes in his underwear.

In other words: why the ones who do understand the culture must get punished for those who doesn't? Doesn't the accomodation for those who don't understand is a betrayal for those who do get it?

Some people - regardless of how much we love them or they love us just don't get a grip on this.

They see something that may not be porn to you and I, but looks pornographic to them. When you try to cover with "that's the culture" they'll at the least roll their eyes at you.

Why is it the responsibility of the developer or publisher to make sure that media you purchase is appropriate for the environment in which you'll be playing it? Shouldn't you be the one vetting the media to decide whether or not it's appropriate to play?
