We haven't had exact numbers for years. We usually get the numbers leaked in roundabout ways, but even the numbers Phil and Shu sit and read are not 100% anyway. While most are point of sale tracked, there are a few retailers who are only estimated. Also things like exchanges and returns need to be factored in on top. It is as close as you are going to get though. We will know how many of each console sold NPD wise to within a small margin of error, it is the rest of the worlds sales not tracked by NPD that are throwing of good tracking at the moment. That is only a Microsoft thing at the moment anyway, because Sony and Nintendo usually provide us with worldwide numbers.
