No, no, and no. Sony's biggest inspiration was Sega, not Nintendo. It was Sega that created a "mature" console industry. They're the ones who came up with the idea to market and sell games to everyone, not just kids. Sony pretty much copied everything Sega did during their Genesis run (mature looking console, attack style commercials, mature software) and totally perfected it. 

Atari was Nintendo's inspiration, Nintendo was Sega's inspiration and Sega was Sony's inspiration.
