Realistically Does the Console NX Have Any Chance Against PS4/XB1?

I almost wonder if NX is going to be some kind of funky/weird mobile "terminal" that has a screen on it + some kind of control mechanism that encourages people to "gather around" it (that would seem Nintendo-ey). Something fairly different in other words.
