Has your taste in gaming changed throughout the years?

I have added a few different genre likes here and there but it was around my teens that I reached my maximum appreciation for certain games.

Open world games came a little after and I liked them well enough, but nothing really awe inducing. As time goes on the more I realize more of the stuff coming out remains the same and I crave for that lost time when Squaresoft reigned supreme as RPG king of the ring. I like rhyming, and I didn't want to throw off my timing.

I'll bite what SE is dishing out now, but that's only because they have by far the most unique and urgent games that need to be good coming out, and I think they know it this time. Also the most hyped and wanted games coming out for a decade plus in the making.
